A productive month in the wilderness. Over these 30 days, I accomplished a lot of work — I poured concrete footings and installed wooden posts for my porch. The screw jacks at the bottom of the posts have 10 centimeters of adjustment, allowing me to lower them as the cabin settles over the next few years. After setting a 7-meter cross log on the porch, I added an additional support on top of that log for the ridge beam. This will take the load off the center support located above the door. After a short break, I felled a pine tree and installed two additional ridge beams on the roof. This will make my roof even stronger and help give it the proper shape. In the next episode, I’ll start laying the first layer of boards over the ridge beams — this will be the first step in covering the roof. Thanks for Watching!
